MISSION ACCOMPLISHED - CHURCH DIDICATION

Well, the battle is all over and the victory has been won, to God be the glory for all that he has done. I just recently spoke to Pastor Geno Dominguez about the progress of his church this past year. He reported to me that they have baptized over 20 new people, and they have receive the Holy Ghost. His church is averaging about 40 in attendance weekly. Just to hear that great report was worth all the 76 days that I was in San Diego to see this project accomplished. Just another note of thanks to all that made this Miracle project happen. I can't start to name names, because I would forget, But let me remind you, that God has it all written down and he will reward you when we get on the other side. Love you all and come and help us build the 1st Spanish Church In A Day in TEXAS.

METRO UPC COUNTDOWN

Metro UPC Update: Oct 31- Nov 5. The project is rolling on. This week the team has been busy building the block wall on the property. Footings were dug, and the steel and concrete installed for the wall. The parking lot was graded, and the sewer lines are being installed. Another miracle just took place friday afternoon. The city came out to try to locate the main for the sewer hook up. But with all the digging, there was no main connection to be found. With much calling and talking to the city, Pastor Geno was persistant and kept trying. The water department first stated that it would cost about 5K to install the connection. With prayer and persistant, the water district called back and said they would schedule the connect, for aprox. $1050.00. What a major miracle. Thank you Jesus. I don't have time for all the other miracles that happen this week, but I will try to give you and update of them tommow. Stay tuned, and keep praying for the project.

PASTED PLUMBING INSPECTION

Metro UPC Update - Oct 26, 2005. We would like to report that Metro UPC has just received their first approved inspection. This morning about 9:00 am. Mr. Hernandez came to the job site to inspect the plumbing. Introducing my self as the builder, Mr. Hernandez begin to inspect the plumbing. After a few questions and suggestions, he wanted a water test on the drain pipes. We filled the line with water, and there was no leaks. He made two suggestions about the clean outs, and ask me where my inspection card was. I gladly gave him the inspection card, and he put his name and date on the card. I thanked him for his time, and passing our plumbing inspection. After he had went to his vehicle, there was a big shout "YES". Thank you Jesus, you helped pass the inspection.
Just a note of thanks to the plumbing team that stayed until midnight to make sure the plumbing was installed for the inspection. Without all their hard work and extra effort, there was no way that this would have been possible. The water lines were installed today, and the grading of the pad was well on its way. The rebar for the slab was delivered and is ready for installation tomorrow. Pray that we can have a successful day and be ready for slab inspection on Friday. Saturday will be the big day for pouring the concrete. The soil report was deliver to Pastor Geno, and we passed with flying colors. (Thank you Jesus). Just a note of thanks to all the ladies of the church that have been providing us with home cooked meals. The workers and myself say thanks for your hard work and sacrifice. If you would like to help us pour the concrete Saturday at 7:00 sharp, please call me on me at 281-851-7124 for directions.

THE FORMS ARE UP

Metro UPC UPDATE - Oct 13-21 Things have been going at a fevered pace, and I haven't had time to get the great news out. The last week has been a great work of progress for Metro UPC of San Diego. Our compaction testing from the soil company gave us the final approval last Monday to start digging the footings and laying out the building. Even though it rained that day of inspection, it was a great relief to know that our dirt preparation was complete and passed inspection.

Materials were delivered to the sight Tuesday for the forms to be set. WE were EXCITED to see the truck filled with 2x12x16' forms for the church foundation. I needed a form setter to help me lay out the building and square it. Thank you, cousin, Rudy Oriel, for coming to the site and helping me lay out the building. May the Lord bless you for your help and sacrifice.

The ditches were dug with a mini excavator, and a ditch witch. A little bit of manual labor was needed for that phase. ( ask the pastor!) Man was the dirt hard to dig! With all the good compaction, the ditches were very hard to dig but we did it.

Friday morning the generator was fired up, the saws cutting...and the hammers swinging. The forms were being set and the pastor was really getting excited to see it all come to pass. Four years of hard work, waiting and trusting God to perform the miracle. And finally the forms were done by 4pm that afternoon. Thank you Bro. Tony Zuniga Sr. from Southbay Pentecostal for your professional help to make this possible. This week we will install the rebar steel and make up for inspection to pour the foundation. By the help of the Lord, a foundation will be poured this coming Saturday morning. Pray for this project, and DONATE your time in labor, check out the website at metroupc.com and fill out the form.

Dirt Work for Foundation Almost Complete

Metro UPC Update - Oct 11-12. The dozer has been running non-stop, from 7:00 am - till dark. Great news according to the Soil specialist, we passed our compaction test with flying colors. Thank the Lord! Earthquake proof! (ha) We want to thank the people that have been very helpful in guiding us in the right direction to get our dirt prepared for the slab. They have done an excellent job and have been very kind and helpful.

Another MIRACLE just took place today. Due to the rocky soil we had to dig a pit and refill with dirt. I noticed a construction site where they were digging on the way to the church this morning. I told Bro. Geno that I would ask them if they could donate some of the dirt to our CIAD project. The foreman contacted us today and said that he had over 3500 yards of dirt available if we needed it. We needed about 900 yards to fill the hole. They will be hauling it for us in their trucks at 7 am in the morning. Thank the Lord for the free dirt miracle. ($9000.00 blessing)

Tomorrow the city is installing a new water line from the street to the property. The dirt is going to be delivered. The pad will be finished. And we will be ready to put up the forms for the foundation. Pray for us that God will continually bless the project with his help.

Thank you Bro. Randy Kocher, manager of Budget Car Sales of San Diego for providing Metro UPC with a full size Extended Cab Ford Pick for the CIAD project.

Stay in touch for some more exciting things about California's first church in a day project ever.

WEAKEND WARRIORS - OVERTIME NEEDED

Metro UPC Update - Oct. 9, 2005. Needing some more excavating to do before we could build the pad for the slab, it called for some extra ordinary people to step up to the plate. Well the Lord sent the right people to help us complete the excavating and the bob-cat work to move all the dirt. I would like to express my thanks along with Pastor Geno, for all the hard work and effort that was given today on Sunday. Without you we couldn't have done it. Thanks again.

A great BIG thanks for Fire Engine No. 19 and the crew on duty that performed above and beyond the call of duty. We asked the fire chief if they could do us a favor and bring their truck and soak our pad before we started to build up the dirt for the pad. They came on Sunday, and we are glad they did. Because of their hard work and effort, it allowed us to stay on schedule for building the pad on Monday, and start the forming on Tuesday.

EARTH BREAKING NEWS

Metro UPC Update: Oct 8, 7:00 am on Franklin Ave, in the city of San Diego, Ca., was sited some earth shaking going on. No it wasn't a earthquake, it was a D5 Bulldozer scraping the ground and moving the dirt for the foundation for Metro UPC of San Diego. After prayer the team began to work. The dozer was moving dirt, the compactor with a blade started to scrape the soil and everyone was busy at work. Some surveying was being done to give Bro.. Rolondo some elevations for the depth of the pad being excavated. Silt fencing was put in place on the perimeter of the property.

The water meter was installed last Monday and Pastor Dominquez thought they had the water service ready to use. When we started to hook up a temporary water spigot, we found out when we opened the valve there was no water coming out. The SD Water District was called to check it and said that they would have to come back Monday to locate the problem. Thanks to our neighbors next door, they so kindly allowed us to use there water for the day.

We still needed a large amount of water to saturate our pad before building it up 8 inches at a time. We decided to ask the SD Fire Department to come with their trucks and soak the whole pad. ANOTHER MIRACLE and Thanks again to SD Fire Department.

After the dust settled and the sun began to go down, thank you Sis. Sherry for the Pollo Loco chicken dinner that was provided for all the workers. I wish you could have seen the smile on all the workers face when we said, " Sis. Sherry has some chicken dinner for us." We ate dinner and fellowshipped and prepared for another day. Thank you Jesus, another great second day of progress for Metro UPC San Diego.

GREAT 1ST DAY OF PROGRESS

Metro San Diego Update : Oct 7, 2005 The first full day of the project went well. Meeting the soil compaction company at the property was a great blessing. Building in Houston, Texas, the compaction process is just alittle bit different. Well in about 15 min, I recieve compaction 101 San Diego Style. After the conversation, the represenitive said we could compact the pad for the building with the dirt that was available on the property. What that ment was that we didn't have to bring in 15-20 loads of fill for compaction. Praise God another miricle. That alone was a savings of over $7,000. That not all.

Bro. Rolondo that works with Hawthorn heavy equipment Company orchestrated a donation of a D5 dozer and a heavy duty compactor for the dirt work. Brother Rolondo will be running the dozer and myself the compactor sat morning. Special thanks to Bro. Rolondo for his help and his company with there donations. ($3500.00 savings)

Special Thanks to the 3 men crew that came after hours to cap off the gas line that was located in the middle of the pad where the church pad was going to be. Without there after hours help (12:00 am) we could not have been ready for sat.

I have to run for now, but stay tuned for some pictures of the project that will be posted very soon. Pray for God continual blessings on the project. If you would like to make a donation please visit the Metro UPC web site. Out.
